Bossier City police arrested a suspected drunk driver Thursday night in a south Bossier City neighborhood after he crashed his pickup truck into three vehicles, a garage and a fire hydrant while knocking over a few garbage containers and street signs.

Patrol officers arrested Cameron Cole Thomas, 22, of Sibley for hit and run and DWI after being called to the Savannah Place subdivision just after 9 p.m. in regard to an out of control hit and run pickup truck. When officers arrived on the scene they found the driver of the truck, later identified as Thomas, being detained by local residents.

Witnesses told police Thomas was driving his truck recklessly in the 200 block of Avondale Lane and 200 block of Telfair Lane and hit three parked vehicles and kept on driving. They say Thomas also hit the garage of a residence on Telfair Lane and crashed into a fire hydrant at the corner of Avondale Lane and Savannah Place Circle. There were no reported injuries.

Thomas was booked into the Bossier City Jail on the above charges. He was also booked on bench warrant for failure to appear on an expired motor vehicle inspection violation.
