Summer time is one of the busiest travel seasons of the year and officials with The Shreveport Regional Airport say they are seeing a slight increase in summer travel since this time last year.

Officials say airlines coming in and out of the area have been completely full since May.

“We are really aggressive right now in going after additional service to fly into Shreveport to serve our residents as well as our visitors," said airport Director Bryant Francis.

Francis also says they expect business to pick up going into the fall despite the slow start at the beginning of the year.

The airport is also currently undergoing some terminal renovation which is expected to help boost traffic.
