Afternoon fire leaves heavy damage to a two-story home

An afternoon fire heavily damages a two-story house in Bossier City.

Bossier City Fire Department responded to a fire in the 400 block of Summit Drive.

It happened around 1:30 p.m., fire crews arrived on scene and found flames and heavy smoke coming from a room on the porch on the second floor.

After 20 minutes, firefighters got the fire under control and managed to keep the fire from spreading from too much of the house.

At the time of the fire, three people were inside the home, fortunately they all got out safe.

The house next to the two-story home sustained minor damage.

At this time the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
