Shreveport, LA (KMSS) — Five suspects are now facing felony charges following an early morning burglary of a convenience store in west Shreveport.
Vernon Wynn, 18, Zues Adger, 18, Marquis Claville, 18, along with two juvenile males ages 16 and 17, all of Shreveport, wre arrested for simple burglary.
Just before 3:00 a.m., on Mionday, Shreveport Police officers were dispatched to the 4100 block of Hearne Avenue relative to a silent alarm triggered at the Triple J convenience store.
Upon officers arrival at the business, they immediately noticed the building's front glass had been busted out. Seconds later, officers observed a group of subjects fleeing from the business. Following a brief pursuit on foot, all suspects, totaling five, were apprehended by authorities.
Additionally, officers located a duffel bag which contained items that were ultimately linked to the business.
The suspects were detained and subsequently transported to Shreveport Police headquarters were they were each subject to interviews by detectives. During the inquiry, it was determined that while walking in the 4100 block of Hearne Avenue, one of the suspects, using a foreign object, allegedly broke into the business, made entry, and removed miscellaneous items of value.
These actions were allegedly mirrored by the other suspects captured fleeing the scene. Following interviews with detectives, all five suspects were charged with simple burglary.
At this stage of the investigation, authorities are awaiting the release of surveillance video from the business.
