3 arrested after shots fired

Three men are facing serious charges following an early morning altercation in downtown Shreveport.

Early Saturday morning,  Shreveport Police patrol officers who were in the area near the 600 block of Commerce Street heard gunshots being fired.

As  police investigated the area,  one of the patrolmen observed a man holding a firearm. The man started running from the officer. Following a brief pursuit, the suspect, identified as 20-year-old Dekendrey Reddix was arrested and police seized the weapon.

Reddix,  was booked into the Shreveport City Jail on one count of illegal use of a weapon and one count of illegal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Reddix was also charged with one count of simple burglary and one count of possession of burglary tools after police linked him to an unrelated earlier vehicle burglary.

Upon further investigation, detectives determined Reddix and several other men were involved in some sort of dispute that ultimately led to gunfire.

Based on information and evidence gathered at the scene of the crime, police identified and apprehended two other suspects, identified as 27-year-old Calvin Jackson, of Panama City, Florida, was booked into the Shreveport City Jail on one count of illegal use of a weapon and one count of possession, manufacture and distribution a Schedule IV narcotic. and 24-year-old Malcolm Perry, of Bossier City, was booked into the Shreveport City Jail on one count of principal to illegal use of a weapon.
