20 fire trucks respond to railroad fire
Shreveport, LA (KMSS) — Just after 11am, the part a Kansas City Southern train carrying railroad ties caught on fire near East 85th St. and Fairfield in Shreveport.
More than 20 trucks responded to the fire, and the Shreveport Fire Department was able to put out the fire in about 40 minutes.
Fire officials aren't sure what caused the fire to start, but said fires involving railroad ties aren't that uncommon. Just a few years ago, a fire involving railroad ties started in the same area.
Fire officials were able to keep this fire from spreading to nearby structures.
