Bossier City, La — Bossier City police are investigating a traffic crash in which a two-year-old girl was hit and killed by a car.

The crash happened just after 7 p.m. in the 1500 block of Carver Street.

Investigators say it appears the child, Carlaya Ariah Jeter, of Bossier City, was hit after she walked in front of a car that was pulling away from the curb and driving off.

Jeter was taken to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Investigators say alcohol was not a factor in the crash and it appears the incident was unavoidable. No citations were issued to the driver.
