Lafayette, LA (NBC 33) —
Two Lafayette men are in jail after police say they stole a giant, inflatable, yellow duck from the Boys and Girls Club on Thursday, Feb. 27.
The duck was set up in front of a store on Johnston Street before it went missing.
On Wednesday, March 5, Lafayette police released a surveillance image of the suspects’ truck with the duck in the back.
Detectives were able to then identify the suspects as Kyle Cormier, 25, and Garcon Cormier, 21, both of Lafayette Parish.
Each suspect was charged with one count of felony theft.
Officers also recovered the giant, inflatable duck and will return it to the Boys and Girls Club.
The investigation is still ongoing, and police expect more arrests.
