Shreveport, La — A man is recovering from injuries sustained following an overnight shooting in north Shreveport.
On September 27, 2012, Shreveport Police officers responded to the 600 block of Seneca Trail relative to a shooting. Upon officers arrival there, contact was made with the victim identified as 27 year old De'Angelo Davenport of the 600 block of Seneca Trail in Shreveport. Davenport advised authorities that while he and a friend were walking near the 700 block of Tecumseh Trail, a male subject known to him approached them from behind, armed with a gun and demanded money. The suspect fired at least two shots from the gun during a struggle with Davenport, at which time Davenport received a single gunshot wound to the wrist. Davenport was subsequently transported by the Shreveport Fire Department to LSUHSC with what was described as non life-threatening injuries.
Violent Crimes Investigators arrived on scene and began their query. During the course of the investigation, it was learned that Davenport had an outstanding warrant for his arrest through the Caddo Parish Sheriffs Office, on which he was subsequently arrested and taken into custody. The suspect , who fled the scene of the shooting on foot, is described as a black male, standing approximately five feet nine inches tall, to six feet tall, wearing glasses. There were no other injuries in the robbery. Authorities are continually working at this hour to identify and arrest the suspect in this incident.
