1 hospitalized, 1 arrested in Shreveport robbery

A Shreveport man is recovering after getting shot in the leg by two men who tried to rob him in north Shreveport Saturday night.

At around 7:11 p.m., officers were dispatched to a house in the 1000 block of Lafourche Circle to a shooting. At the scene, patrolmen found Tyrone Tyson, 38, with a single gunshot wound to the knee. Tyson was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.

Detectives learned two armed men allegedly entered the house on Lafourche Circle and tried to rob Tyson. Witnesses were able to identify the pair, and within a short time, police arrested Demarsay Washington, 17, of Shreveport. He was booked into the Shreveport City Jail on one count of armed robbery with a firearm.
