Shreveport, LA (KMSS) — Just before noon on Monday, Shreveport police were called to a home in the 5200 block of Kent Street to reports of someone firing a gun.
Officers spoke with the victim, who said while standing in the neighboring back yard, he heard what sounded like gunshots. The man told police the shots barely missed him but hit a nearby fence, according to the Shreveport Police Department.
Police learned that Shonesammuies Young, 21, of Shreveport, was seen firing a gun and allowing two other juveniles to shoot the gun as well.
A 15-year-old boy was given a misdemeanor summons for interfering in the investigation after authorities found he purposely hid parts of the gun when he learned police were looking for the weapon.
Officers are looking for a 16-year-old girl who left the scene before they arrived.
Young was charged with carrying a weapon illegally, illegal use of a weapon, along with a separate count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. He was booked into the Shreveport City Jail.
