A Shreveport man has been arrested by Shreveport police after neighbors witnessed him breaking into a west Shreveport home.
Just before 10:00 a.m., Shreveport officers responded to a call from a person reporting a burglary at a house in the 500 block of West 74th Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered that some one had broken into a house and stolen a television set and a video game system. Policed tried to stop a man nearby the scene, but he ran.
Authorities chased the man to an apartment complex in the 7200 block of Bernstein Avenue where he allegedly kicked open the doors of two apartments as he tried to hide himself. 18-year-old Tarodgancy Sumner of Shreveport was arrested near the apartment complex. Sumner has been charged with one count of burglary, two counts of unauthorized entry, and one count of resisting an officer.
Sumner was arrested by Shreveport police for allegedly burglarizing a home on Bringhurst Drive back in August of 2010 and detectives will be investigating if Sumner is responsible for other similar crimes. Anyone with any information regarding this suspect or any other burglaries is urged to call Shreveport Police detectives at 318-673-6985 or Shreveport-Caddo Parish Crime Stoppers at 318-673-7373.
