A local charity is giving you the chance to eat out and give back all at the same time. "Plates for Providence" kicks off Monday at restaurants around the Shreveport-Bossier area. Participating eateries will give back a portion of their profits for a designated meal next week.
The Providence House provides shetler, food and resources to homeless families across the area. Since 1992, Providence House has served more than 9,000 homeless people in close to 3,000 families and provided more than 800,000 nights of shelter. To find out how you can participate in Plates for Providence, check out the restaurant schedule on the Facebook page. http://www.facebook.com/PlatesForProvidenceHouseRestaurantWeek
Providence House also needs volunteers, as well as donations for families, including garbage bags, paper towels and antibacterial spray. To find out how to donate or volunteer your time, visit the website. http://theprovidencehouse.com/
