New film brings money, notoriety to Shreveport-Bossier
A little bit of Washington, D.C. is coming to the Ark-La-Tex in the form of a big white house. The new Millenium Studios film White House Taken will begin filming in July. Construction has already begun on the White House set on Walker next to Bossier City's CenturyLink Center. The movie, directed by Antoine Fuqua, stars Gerard Butler.
Arlena Acree of the Shreveport-Bossier Film Office says the production is relying on local supplies and labor. "They're buying lumber and building materials, they're actually hiring some local vendors to do certain things," she said. The set construction is slated to last about five weeks. Filming starts in early July.
