It's mudbug madness in Shreveport this weekend, as thousands flock to the downtown area for Cajun cuisine and music as part of the 29th annual festival. Up to 100,000 people are expected to attend this year. Dozens of vendors are already set up along Festival Plaza for fresh food, local merchandise and kids' activities.
We found Arthur Russell, a Shreveport native, heading out with a grilled chicken sandwich. He said he's lived in the Ark-La-Tex for 50 years, and Mudbug Madness is one of his favorite local events. "You can come here to Shreveport and have just as much fun. We have our own Bourbon Street right here. You can call this Bourbon Street," he said.
Mudbug Madness runs through Sunday. Be sure to check out the live local entertainment, including the bands at the Swamp Stage, sponsored by Fox 33 and My 45.
