LifeShare Blood Centers is asking the public to give blood to shore up the dwindling community blood supply.
“We are in urgent need of O-negative donors,” said LifeShare spokesperson Tina Martinez. “Major surgeries have increased the demand for O-negative blood as well as B-negative and A-negative blood types. The increased usage, combined with a larger than usual decrease in donations, means we must appeal to our volunteer donors to help our local patients.”
LifeShare issued the reminder for the public to continue to donate blood, citing the continual need for providing blood for patient use on a daily basis.
