Boil water notice issued for parts of Shreveport

Wednesday, September 19, 2012 - 6:19pm

Repairs made to a water line today are believed to have caused a loss of water service or low pressure in an isolated area along a portion of Airline Drive so the City of Bossier City is voluntarily issuing a boil advisory.

The advisory effects water customers along Airline Drive from East Texas Street to the railroad tracks just north of Airline Church of Christ.

The advisory is a precautionary measure and recommends water customers in the affected area that lost water service or experienced low water pressure voluntarily boil their water before consuming it until the health department can test the water.

The advisory pertains only to water used for consumption. Again the advisory is only a precautionary measure. This is a boil advisory, not a boil order.

The city will notify the media when the advisory is lifted.
