Red Cross hosts health fair 2013
SHREVEPORT, La. (KMSS) — One local organization held its first health fair for 2013.
The Northwest Louisiana Chapter of the Red Cross was out today in full force.
Residents got the chance to take part in a range of diagnostic tests and services from prostate cancer screening to simple blood work.
Today’s event was designed to help people be pro-active and informed when it comes to their medical history.
“We try to reach people and give them a chance to keep a pro-active eye on their health. With health care costs being what they are, this is a good way for people to keep an eye on issues in between the visits to their doctor," said Michelle Davison who works with the Red Cross.
Red Cross says they plan to hold at least 3 more in surrounding cities in the upcoming months.
