By Christina Erwin

Kindergarteners At University Elementary Celebrated Their End Of Year Party, But They Knew That Something Was Missing...Their Fellow Class Mate O'marea Thompson Was Not There And He Would Not Be Graduating With His Friends. Teachers, Students And Parents At The School Are Mourning The Loss Of The 6-Year-Old Whose Life Was Taken Along With His Younger Sisters In The Fire On Sunday.

Janice Hopkins, Grandmother Of O'marea's Friend
I Can't Fathom, I Just Cannot Fathom. Death Is Something We All Usually Face At One Time Or Another In Our Families, But Children, Innocent Children That Just Went To Bed And Didn't Wake Up.

O'marea's Teacher Ms. Oathout Is One Of The People That Is Taking His Death The Hardest. She Says She Gets Through It One Day At A Time So That She Can Be There For O'marea's Friends And Classmates.

Karin Oathout, Teacher
My Students Are Hanging In There, A Lot Of Them Really Don't Understand, They Don't Have That Concept Of Death Yet. I Have A Few That Do Understand And They Have Broken Down Several Times And Cried. And There First Response Is They Just Want To Go Home.

O'marea's Older Brother Tre Who Also Attends University Elementary Is In Stable Condition At The Hospital. Mom, Wendy Thompson And The Rest Of The Family Will Be Staying With The Children's Grandmother Until They Can Get Back On Their Feet. Faculty At The School Wanted Wendy To Know That The Family Is In Their Prayers And That O'mara Is Missed.

He Was Such A Beautiful Child And He Always Had A Smile On His Face, And I Know That You Will Deeply Miss Him And We Will Too.

If Would Like To Make A Donation To The Thompson Family You Can Stop By University Elementary Now Through May 27th.
