SHREVEPORT - The state police say a lie on an insurance form landed a woman in jail.
They say Paulette Carter tried to get an extra $2,000 from her insurance company after her roof collapsed in Hurricane Gustav.
The 51-year old is now in a Livingston Parish jail.
Investigators say Carter is one of thousands of people accused of cheating their insurance companies yearly.
Officials say the dishonesty is costing the rest of America millions.
