Street Crimes Interdiction Unit to increase

Thursday, August 27, 2009 - 2:05pm

The Bossier City Police Chief is increasing a major crime fighting component of the police department.

The Street Crimes Interdiction Unit will double in size, hoping to cut down on street crimes that may lead to even bigger crimes.

Police say it's a necessary step in keeping the city safe.

Police will be using unmarked police vehicles to catch criminals mainly in residential areas.

The chief says the increase will also allow the unit to cover more areas of the city at any given time.
