A treadmill is great for exercise. That seems simple, right? But people keep finding new—and hilariously entertaining—ways to mis-use this seemingly straightforward piece of equipment.

All we can say is thank you. We are very grateful to all teenagers who think it’s a good idea to put a skateboard on a treadmill. Or anyone who thinks it’s a good idea to treadmill with a friend. That always seems to end well.

The Daily Distraction is your Internet break from reality. Whether you’re eating lunch at your desk or avoiding high school exes on Facebook, you might just laugh, say “aaahhh” or not believe what you just watched.

It’s pre-Oscars, so there’s no shortage of gorgeous celebs prancing around Hollywood and beyond in beautiful and questionable attire.

This week’s best included Selena Gomez in a short, flirty, marine blue Gucci dress and Taylor Swift in a sexy black Elie Saab gown at the BRIT Awards across the pond. Then new mom and birthday girl Drew Barrymore wrapped herself in a frumpy black and white sack, while  Rita Ora was a mess in a swath of peach fabric at the BRITs.

The Best:

At the French premiere of her good-girl-gone-bad film ‘Spring Breakers’ on Feb. 18, the former Miss Justin Bieber wore a sparkly, swingy, bright blue party dress that showed off her legs. It was mod and very ’60s, with a twirly energy. It’s elevated by the embellished collar and neckline.

The 20-year-old also showed just a smidgen of sideboob. Usually either flash it or you don’t, but Sel didn’t fully commit to side boobage. Only a tiny bit of her lady lumps were exposed.

Taylor Swift swapped out her recent favorite red carpet color of white (or some variation of it) for basic but sexy black at the 2013 BRIT Awards in the UK on Feb. 20. The unlucky-in-love neurotic wore a belted black Elie Saab gown with two skirt slits and black pantyhose, which prevented the dress from highlighting her legs, rendering them a moot point. But it also showed off those toned arms.

She probably spent 10 hours picking out this dress since her ex Harry Styles was there and she needed to prove that whole “living well and looking good is the best revenge” nonsense.

English pop singer Jessie J dared to bare in a belted black robe with a plunging neckline aka a Versace dress at the BRITs. Thank God for double-stick tape. Jessie ripped a page out of J. Lo‘s red carpet playbook with this dangerous number.

We were almost wishing someone would have stepped on the hem and dragged it down or over, since she was asking for it. Regardless, the dress epitomizes sexy.

Anne Hathaway was gilded in a gold Gucci dress, the same color as the Oscar she’s about to pick up this weekend. The gladiator-like scaling and the shape suit her. Her pixie is growing out and has a mod, Twiggy flair.

Drew Barrymore put zero thought into this Max Mara outfit at a Beverly Hills event on Feb. 19, a few nights before her 38th birthday on Feb. 22. It’s white on top, black on the bottom and … well, that’s it. It doesn’t hug her curves or hit at all the right points on her body. It looks like someone rolled her up in hotel bed sheets. It’s too old and dowdy.

Miranda Kerr is a MILF and a model but not even she can make this loud patterned resort wear mess from Peter Pilotto look good. It detracts from her beauty. It’s too much color-blocking and overdone pattern mixing.

British singer Rita Ora nails street chic, most of the time. She also does well on red carpets, but this shiny peach swatch of fabric doesn’t do her any favors. It’s by an unexpected designer — Ulyana Sergeenko — but we do not love it. The unfinished edging is so amateur, too.

Ashley Benson attended the Paris ‘Spring Breakers’ premiere in this constricting mermaid dress which looked impossible to walk in, and the excess of side boob in the front was trashy. It was begging to be gawked at. It doesn’t look young and hip, and it should.

Wiz Khalifa and Amber Rose are now proud parents!

E! News reports that the couple welcomed a bouncing baby boy Thursday whom they named Sebastian “The Bash” Taylor Thomaz.

Wiz later tweeted, ”Happy Birthday Sebastian ‘The Bash’ Taylor Thomaz!!! Everyone welcome this perfect young man into the world.”

Rose also shared her enthusiasm with the world, tweeting “Happy Birthday to our baby boy Sebastian ‘The Bash’ Taylor Thomaz! I’m so happy u guys I fell in love all over again! ”

The couple have known the baby’s sex since shortly before their red carpet appearance at the MTV Video Music Awards back in September, but they decided to keep it under wraps until the big day.

Khalifa and Rose have been engaged since March.

Justin Timberlake is joining the “Five-Timers Club”!

The “Suit & Tie” singer has been tapped to host the March 9 episode of “Saturday Night Live”. He will also serve as musical guest, which makes this the second time in a month that a host has performed double duty since Justin Bieber on February 9, and the third time this season since Bruno Mars on October 20

This will be Timberlake’s fifth shot as host, but he’s still got a ways to go before he catches up with all-time champ Alec Baldwin (16) and runner-up Steve Martin (15).

The ‘Harlem Shake‘ is a new dance trend (everybody is doing it) that’s sweeping the country, with more and more videos going viral on the internet everyday.

But residents of the Harlem community say this so-called new dance is not the real and original ‘Harlem Shake’.

I’ve always loved puzzles and word searches and with the advent of computers in our daily lives, you just don’t see crossword puzzle books lying around anymore… except for in the seat backs of airplanes. Everyone will be glued to their TVs on Sunday for the Academy Awards, a night that both entertainers and fans will be talking about in the days that follow. One of the great traditions of the annual ceremony celebrating the best of the past year of Hollywood is how unpredictable and outrageous it can get. Whether it’s unexpected speeches or strange interruptions, the spontaneous moments are always the ones that command the most attention. Here’s a look back at 10 of our favorites from the Oscars’ 86 years.

1 Marlon Brando Sends Sacheen Littlefeather to Accept His Oscar      

It was perhaps the most uncomfortable moment in Oscar history when in 1973 Marlon Brando sent up Sacheen Littlefeather to accept his Best Actor Oscar for 'The Godfather.' It was a form of protest for Hollywood's misrepresentation of American Indians, and Brando prepared a long speech for Littlefeather to deliver. He wanted a statement to be made. Instead, a producer cut Littlefeather down to 60 seconds. She got to give the entire speech backstage to the press and everyone watching at home was just confused. Littlefeather recently spoke about her Oscar moment and revealed she is writing a book about her friendship with the enigmatic Brando.

2 The Streaker      

In 1974, with counterculture and streaking still very much a part of contemporary society, a streaker named Robert Opal got the biggest applause of the night when he flashed a peace sign as he passed behind host David Niven during the ceremony. It was Opal's crowning achievement, but it was Niven who had people most impressed as he was able to keep his cool and make the most of the crazy situation.

3 Three 6 Mafia Win Best Song      

Hip-hop groups are not common guests at the traditionally stuffy Oscars, but in 2006 Three 6 Mafia took the crowd by storm when the group won an award for the song 'It's Hard Out There For A Pimp' from the 'Hustle & Flow' soundtrack.

It was a surprise win for the group, who won over the crowd with their acceptance speech. They reemerged later on when they performed a relatively clean version of the song on stage.

4 Rob Lowe sings with...Snow White?      

There was no official host at the 1989 show, and the opening number brought out an act featuring Merv Griffin, Snow White (played by actress Eileen Bowman) and Rob Lowe. It was Lowe and "White" who left the audience there and at home perplexed when they went into a rewritten rendition of "Proud Mary." Needless to say, it wasn't met well and the Academy went back to its standard styles in the years that followed. Bowman recently discussed her role in one of Oscar's most unfortunate moments.

5 The "Deaf" Children’s Choir      

Remember Debby Boone? No? That's because she was a one-hit wonder for the song 'You Light Up My Life' in 1979, a song she sang on stage at the annual awards ceremony. However, there was a catch: a group of children, who appeared to be deaf, joined her. Only the children didn't know sign language very well, leaving everyone to realize at once this whole act was a farce.

6 Roberto Benigni’s Chairwalk      

It was the chairwalk to remember. In 1999, Italian filmmaker Roberto Benigni rose from his seat with such enjoyment upon learning he had won for Best Foreign Film for his film 'Life is Beautiful' that he actually walked on the backs of the seats in front of him. Nobody seemed to know what to do at the time, as other attendees held him up in place so he wouldn't fall back from the daydream he was experiencing.

7 Jack Palance Shows Off      

Jack Palance showed off that he still had the beauty and the brawn for entertainment's biggest night when in 1992 he tweaked a line from the movie 'City Slickers,' in which he starred in with Oscars host Billy Crystal, to say "Billy Crystal... I cr$$ bigger than him." Then, the 73-year-old hit the floor and did one-handed push-ups. Throughout the rest of the night, Crystal called back to the event with lines like "Jack Palance has been named People Magazine's Sexiest Man Alive."

8 Angelina Puckers Up...With Her Brother      

Now Angelina Jolie may be at the top of Hollywood, but back in 2000 she made headlines for a completely different reason. On the red carpet in 2000, for inexplicable reasons, she kissed her brother James Haven. Like really kissed him. It led to a ton of press and publicity that Jolie did not want, stirring rumors that the two were engaged in some illicit affair. Now Jolie just makes waves with her sexy dresses and keeps her mouth to herself.

9 Burkett's "drunk" moment      

You may not recall producer Elinor Burkett by name, but will you might remember how in 2010 she stormed the stage and interrupted her 'Music by Prudence' collaborator Roger Ross Williams during his acceptance speech for the Best Documentary Short award.

Because of Burkett's over-the-top zest for the spotlight, many at home speculated that she was under the influence of alcohol at the time. She said, "You know, in a world in which most of us are told and tell ourselves that we can't, Liyana, the band behind the film, teaches us that we're wrong. Against all odds, they did so we can. The bottom line is, to me, my role models and my heroes [are the members of Liyana]." It's a nice message, but she may have found a better way to get it out.

10 Alice Brady's stolen statue      

In 1938, Alice Brady won for Best Supporting Actress for 'In Old Chicago,' but she was very sick from cancer and could not attend the festivities. So a random guy walked up on stage, accepted the award on her behalf, and left, never to be seen or heard from again. The Academy had falsely assumed this was planned, but when they realized their error, they made it up to Brady by giving her an apology and a replacement statue. Unfortunately, Brady passed away before she could receive her rightful award.

Laura Smith didn’t get a massage, but she was still rubbed the wrong way.

The 31-year-old woman claims the National Healing Center, in Aurora, Colorado, refused to give her a massage last month because she is too fat.

The owner of the spa, Penny Wells, allegedly told Smith, “I’m really sorry, but you’re just too fat for our table. You’ll probably break [it] and have to pay for it.’”

Smith, who stands at six-foot-three and weighs 250 pounds, couldn’t believe what she heard:

I was just kind of in shock. When it sunk in, I just started to cry, then I grabbed my stuff and left.”

Smith also says she later learned the tables are built to hold up to 500 pounds, although Wells said one of her tables buckled under a man weighing 165 pounds, which is what spurred on her concern about Smith.

Smith was looking forward to the massage as a kind of reward after running a half-marathon the day before. She said, “I shouldn’t have to expect to be treated poorly. I just ran a half-marathon. I just did something amazing. For somebody to be rude to me after that is just not okay.”

Over three dozen students have been suspended from Calvary Baptist Academy in Shreveport for participating in a “Harlem Shake” video which was posted to YouTube.

The video was reportedly shot on Friday and hit YouTube the next day by “cbharlemshake” and features members of the CBA baseball team dancing on the field, some of them in costume or stripped down to some degree, and making suggestive gestures.

Cbharlemshake updated the video’s description to add ”Today, everyone in this video was suspended. Calvary’s a great place, isn’t it?”

“I understand that Calvary is a Baptist school and as such hates dancing,” the description continues. “But forcing us to take down our Harlem Shake video under threat of expulsion? Yeah, that’s not going to fly. So, eat your heart out, G. Once somethings on the internet it’s there to stay.”

Principal Kevin Guerrero confirmed to KSLA-TV that around 40 of the students had been suspended, and said that the school is not against the Harlem Shake itself, but school administrators deemed the students’ states of undress and suggestive movements inappropriate.

Looks like the judges’ table on “America’s Got Talent” just got a little spicier!

NBC announced Wednesday that former Spice Girl Melanie (Mel B.) Brown, aka Scary Spice, will join Howard Stern and Howie Mandel as a judge on the next season of the summer talent show, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Brown replaces Sharon Osbourne, who quit the show after claiming that NBC fired her son Jack as host of their reality-competition show “Stars Earn Stripes” he revealed he had been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. NBC disputes her claim.

Brown has previously been a judge on the Australian version of “The X Factor”, as well as cohosting “Dancing with the Stars: Down Under”

“America’s Got Talent”‘s eighth season begins May 28 on NBC.

So, if I told you this was a video of two tigers verses a monkey who was trying to protect his home, you’d think the monkey would be the underdog, right? You’d be wrong. Here is a video of two tiger cubs playing under a monkey’s tree as the monkey does his best to scare them off. The results are cute and hilarious.

As a man born and raised in Shreveport, LA I’m vaguely aware of a phenominon known as “snow” it’s apparently related to rain, but it’s frozen. So, I guess it’s like small hail. Anyway, in the frozen land of Russia they get snow a lot. Russians as we know are fond of cameras, here’s a Russian who took their camera and aimed it at birds playing on a car!
