Investigators probe an early morning shooting that has left a Shreveport man injured and a suspect on the run.

Just before 2 a.m., this morning, Shreveport Police officers were called to the Raceway gas station in the 3700 block of Hearne Avenue after receiving a call that a man had been shot while apparently sitting inside a vehicle on the parking lot there. On the arrival of officers, they located 26 year old Marcus Henderson suffering from at least one gunshot wound to the lower body. Henderson was subsequently transported to a local hospital with injuries that were considered to be non life threatening.

Investigators with the Shreveport Police Department's Violent Crimes Unit responded to the scene, initiating their inquiry. At this stage of the investigation, authorities believe that Henderson was shot while sitting inside his vehicle, possibly at the hands of a male subject that witnesses advised was seen approaching Henderson's car prior to the shooting. The same suspect was seen fleeing on foot immediately following the shooting. Detectives are hopeful that surveillance footage from the business will help to identify the suspect. As the investigation continues, authorities urge anyone with information about this crime to call Caddo-Shreveport Crimestoppers at 318 673-7373 or Shreveport Police at (318) 673-6955.
