After a weekend of shopping in the brick-and-mortar stores, it's time for one of the biggest online retail days of the year-Cyber Monday. Hundreds of online stores will slash prices today, hoping that Americans will continue their consumer-mindest through the rest of the week.
The term "Cyber Monday" was coined in 2005, when retailers reported they experienced a significant increase in online sales the Monday after Thanksgiving. Many began offering special sales on that day, hoping to attract more customers. Last year, total sales topped 1 billion dollars for the first time.
