Woman shot after refusing man's advances in Shreveport

Shreveport police have arrested a man for allegedly shooting a woman on Saturday in the 2700 block of Southern Avenue.

Police say 27-year-old Kirk Jackson shot 22-year-old Tequindalyn Rogers after she refused to sit in Jackson's lap .

Jackson reportedly shot Rogers in her left leg after her refusal of several of his advances. Rogers was taken to a local hospital by the Shreveport Fire Department where she was treated for a single gun shot wound and later released.

Jackson was charged with one count each of aggravated battery and convicted felon in possession of a firearm.

Jackson was booked into the Shreveport City Jail.
