Deputies arrested a Shreveport woman on Monday for using an elderly woman’s personal information and credit card to charge thousands of dollars, according to Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator.

April Metcalf, 39, of Amelia, used the 73-year-old woman’s personal information to obtain a credit card without permission. She then charged $1,300 on the card. Metcalf later obtained a Power of Attorney and used another card, this one belonging to the elderly victim, to obtain over $13,000 in cash. Metcalf also attempted to obtain a loan in the amount of $1,500, but the loan was declined.

Metcalf was arrested by Sheriff’s Detective Bobby Herring for exploitation of the infirm and booked into Caddo Correctional Center.
