Walmart shooting suspect believed to be hiding out in Dallas, Tx
Police detectives are searching for the person they believe is responsible for shooting at a man in a Shreveport parking lot on Easter Sunday.
Investigators received a tip through the Shreveport-Caddo Parish Crime Stoppers naming 22-year old Esclarea La Juan Smith as the shooter. Smith is accused of firing several shots at Rodney Alexander back on April 8, 2012 in the Walmart parking lot in the 1100 block of Shreveport-Barksdale Highway.
Smith was a passenger in a vehicle that almost hit Alexander’s car. During the incident, the two exchanged words prior to Smith pulling a handgun and firing at Alexander as he drove away.
No one was injured, but the victim’s vehicle was hit several times.
Authorities have obtained an arrest warrant charging Smith with one count of attempted second degree murder. Her bond is set at $100,000.
Esclarea Smith is described as a black female, about 5' 7",l weighing around 160 pounds with a short hair cut. Her current address is unknown at this time, but officials believe she may be hiding out in the Dallas, Texas area.
