BATON ROUGE, LA --- The jury is now seated in the First-Degree murder trial for rapper Lil' Boosie. Opening statements are scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 5. The jury consists of 9 women and three men.

ORIGINAL STORY: It's day five in jury selection in the First-Degree murder trial of rapper Lil Boosie and still no jury has been seated.

His attorneys say the prosecution is trying to turn the gangster rapper's violent persona into a reason to convict him.

The defense argued today that just because Lil Boosie's videos and lyrics could be offensive that doesn't mean the he should be convicted of murder. Lawyers are bringing this up to make sure the jury isn't biased.

Hatch is accused of ordering Mike "Maro Mike" Louding to kill Terry Boyd back in 2009.

Defense attorney Jason Williams says his client isn't the first musician to use violent lyrics.

He cites Johnny Cash as an example.

"He filmed and recorded a song at Folsom prison about shooting a man down just to watch him die in Reno. And that outlaw persona made him a millionaire several times over and he never killed anybody and he never tried to kill anybody," says Williams.

If convicted, Hatch faces life behind bars.
