Thursday, February 17, 2011 - 1:25pm

Officers from the Shreveport Police Department’s Community Policing Bureau paired up with Property Standards inspectors yesterday to address complaints in the Highland Neighborhood.

The officers and inspectors, working together as part of Mayor Cedric Glover’s T-BONE initiative, spent over six hours Wednesday on the streets of the historic neighborhood in a collaborative effort to address property standards violations, parking violations, and other quality of life issues. Caddo Parish Animal Control officers assisted in the effort as well. Authorities addressed almost 130 inoperable vehicles, issued 83 parking citations, eight traffic citations and checked into six animal complaints. Police officers made two felony arrests and two misdemeanor arrests.

Anyone who would like more information about Operation T-BONE is urged to call the Community Oriented Policing Bureau at 318-673-6950 or visit the City of Shreveport’s web site at http://www.shreveportla.gov/dept/mayor/TBONE.htm
