Bossier Sheriff Larry Deen says a Shreveport man has been arrested for the May 29th armed robbery of Emerson’s on Highway 157 in Bossier Parish.

Robert L. Clark, Jr., 32, of the 8800 block of Westbrook, was taken into custody this morning by a Shreveport Police Department S.W.A.T. team, booked as a fugitive into the Caddo Correctional Center, then transferred to the Bossier Maximum Security Facility and charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault and illegal use of a weapon. Clark was identified after hundreds of hours were spent investigating the case and Deen says the cooperation between his agency, the Bossier City Police Department, the Shreveport Police Department and the Louisiana State Police was “phenomenal.”

“We also could not have made this arrest without the help of our media partners,” said Deen. “Their willingness to print and broadcast Clark’s photo from the armed robbery played a huge part in our being able to solve this crime.”

Bossier Sheriff’s investigators say Clark has an extensive, violent criminal history in Texas, including numerous robberies and car thefts. He spent at least 16 years behind bars in the Lone Star state, going back to the age of 16.

Clark is being held at the Bossier Maximum Security Facility on a bond of $250,000.
