Shreveport Police detectives have learned an alleged sexual assault that reportedly occurred at a west Shreveport school yesterday never happened.
At approximately 10:10 a.m. Tuesday, a 16-year-old female student reported she had been sexually assaulted by two male suspects in a bathroom at Huntington High School in the 6800 block of Rasberry Lane. The victim advised detectives that she was using the restroom and when she started to leave, two black male suspects, one armed with a knife and the other with a gun, sexually assaulted her. The victim was taken to a local hospital where investigators interviewed her. Crime scene investigators were dispatched to the school in an effort to recover any possible evidence.
Very early on in this investigation, detectives had concerns regarding inconsistencies in some of the information they were receiving from the victim. In interviews this morning, the teenager admitted to investigators that she had not been assaulted and had fabricated the entire story. Detectives would not be more specific about what prompted the juvenile to concoct this tale.
Based on all of the information gathered throughout the course of their investigation, detectives have decided it would not be appropriate to charge the child criminally.
