Monday, May 7, 2012 - 11:11am

A Stonewall teen was killed Sunday morning in a single-vehicle crash on Linwood Avenue near Highway 3276.

Troopers were called to the crash around 3:15 a.m. The lone car was driven by 18-year old Jacob A. Meshell.

Officials say Meshell was headed  southbound on Linwood when Meshell lost control and drove off the right side of the roadway. The vehicle then collided with an embankment and rolled.

Meshell was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Alcohol is a suspected factor and toxicology tests are pending. The crash remains under investigation.

State authorities ask all drivers to buckle up when they travel.
