A hazmat spill shut down the Sutherlands Lumber Center in Shreveport Wednesday evening.

The spill occured at the intersection of Mansfield Road and West 70th Street. A liquid was noticed to be leaking from the trailer of a truck behind McDonalds.

The Shreveport hazmat team was called to the scene and the entire center was secured. Customers in the area were asked to evacuate.

A private company was brought in to clean up the liquid.
