A Shreveport woman was arrested Monday for her part in a robbery plot that left the victim unconscious, said Sheriff Steve Prator.
Aleya Cooper, 23, of the 7400 block of Glen Leaf Drive, was being held in Caddo Correctional Center on other charges when she was arrested for being a principal to second-degree robbery.
Detective Andy Scoggins said Cooper and other suspects discussed the robbery on the way to the victim's home Oct. 22. Once there, the victim was choked until he was unconscious, and his wallet, money, and prescription drugs were stolen. Scoggins said Cooper received some of the items taken in the robbery.
Michael Aaron Sanders, 21, of the 3300 block of East Texas Street, also is facing robbery charges. A third suspect, Jale Hopwood, remains at large. A warrant has been obtained for his arrest.
Cooper was originally arrested Oct. 22 for contributing to the delinquency of juveniles. When patrol deputies Fernandez Graham and Matthew Cowden arrived at her house to investigate the robbery, they found juveniles drinking alcohol and smoking marijuana.
