Shreveport residents come home to burglary in progress

Shreveport police are searching for two young males who allegedly broke into a house in Shreveport's Highland neighborhood and stole electronics from the home early Monday morning.

Some folks on the 100 block of East Lister Street came home to quite a surprise at about 1:30 a.m. Monday as they found items in their home missing and misplaced.  "As they were walking through the home, they discovered two male suspects in the house," Shreveport Police spokesman Sgt. Bill Goodin told us.

The residents were missing several cell phones, a laptop, PlayStation games, a PlayStation and other electronic equipment.

The male resident armed himself with a weapon and attempted to hold the burglars at the house, but after a verbal dispute between the residents and the burglars, the two suspects ran away from the scene.  A K-9 unit was unable to locate the suspects near the scene.

The two suspects are both described as young black males.  "Officers were able to recover some fingerprints," Sgt. Goodin explained.  The investigation is ongoing and detectives will be working to determine who these suspects are.

If you have any information about these suspects or the items stolen from the home, you are asked to call Crimestoppers at 318-673-7373.
