Shreveport man dead after tractor accident

Monday, June 20, 2011 - 2:04pm

Bossier Sheriff Larry Deen says a 69-year-old Shreveport man died in Plain Dealing Sunday.

Glen Britt, 69, of the 3700 block of Madison Park in Shreveport, was on his deer lease today in Plain Dealing on Matt Morgan Road doing some bush hogging. At some point during the day, Britt was bush hogging near a ditch, and the front two tires of his tractor went downward into the ditch, overturning the tractor. Britt fell off the tractor and was pinned underneath it, resulting in his death.

Britt had been on the deer lease since morning and had originally told his wife that he would be home around 2:00 p.m. When he didn't come home at 2, his wife called a family friend and asked them to go by and check on him. The friend found Britt dead, still pinned beneath the tractor. Deputies were dispatched to the scene just before 5:30 p.m.

No foul play is suspected in the death of Glen Britt.
