Shreveport man charged with attemped murder

Detectives have arrested the man they believe is responsible for a shooting that injured 1 in west Shreveport earlier this week.

Investigators have charged 26-year old Dramarea Gant with one count of attempted second degree murder after he surrendered himself Friday morning at the Shreveport police station.

Detectives believe Gant shot 29-year old Alonzo D. McKinney on Monday near the intersection of Hearne Avenue and Corbitt Street. McKinney, who was shot several times, was takne to a local hospital with serious injuries.

Authorities believe Dramarea Gant confronted McKinney on Hearne Avenue as they sat in separate vehicles in the lanes of travel near Corbitt Street. Both Gant and McKinney, who are known to each other, exited their respective vehicles and that is when Gant allegedly opened fire on the victim.
