Shreveport man busted with child porn

Friday, July 22, 2011 - 7:00pm

A joint investigation by Louisiana State Police, the Boynton Beach Police Department in Florida and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security led to the arrest of a 41-year-old Shreveport man for child pornography.

The investigation began under the Louisiana State Police Operation Child Watch initiative, an operation targeting sexual predators that exploit and victimize children.

Investigators suspected child pornography was being downloaded to a computer located at the Shreveport residence of 41-year-old John C. Myers. On Wednesday troopers arrested Myers after searching his house and finding hard drives containing hundreds of images of child pornography that had been downloaded from the internet. Myers is suspected to have been involved in the possession and the trade of child pornography for the past 10 years.

Myers was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center on charges of pornography involving juveniles. The investigation is ongoing and additional arrests are expected.
