Police detectives have arrested a man who allegedly injured a baby earlier in September.
On September 9 police detectives responded to a local hospital in reference to an infant patient suffering from serious head injuries. Upon arrival, investigators learned a two-month old boy had been brought to the hospital suffering from skull fractures and an adult with the child, identified as 29-year old Tyrell Tousant, reported he had fallen while carrying the baby. Officials with the Child Welfare Office were notified and detectives immediately began their investigation.
Officials discovered the child’s injuries were not consistent with those that might occur during a fall, and based on all of the information gathered, they arrested Tousant Wednesday evening.
Tousant, of Shreveport, was subsequently booked into the Shreveport City Jail on one count of second degree cruelty to a juvenile.
