Shreveport hit and run suspect caught following tip
Authorities have arrested a local man in connection with a hit and run that injured a 15-year old girl.
On Thursday at around 7:30 a.m., the Shreveport teenager and her brother were walking to their school bus stop in the 1800 block of David Raines Road, when a vehicle traveling the same roadway hit the teen and fled the scene afterward.
Less than 24 hours following the accident, the suspect in the hit and run was arrested after information about his vehicle was released to the public. Authorities received an anonymous call from a concerned citizen providing them with information as to the possible identity of the suspect.
Authorities were able to locate and detain 26-year old Antonio Porter of Shreveport. Porter was brought to police headquarters where he admitted to the hit and run.
Porter was arrested and charged with first degree negligent injuring, felony hit and run and an outstanding warrant through the Shreveport City Marshal's Office. Porter was booked into the Shreveport City Jail.
Porter's vehicle was found in the 1700 block of Cutliff Street in Shreveport and has been impounded as evidence in the accident.
