Shreveport Police need your help in identifying and apprehending a suspect who robbed a cellular phone store in west Shreveport this afternoon.

At approximately 12:36 p.m. Wednesday Shreveport police were called to a reported armed robbery at the Metro PCS store in the 1700 block of Kings Highway.

Upon arrival there, officers talked to an employee who said the business had been robbed by a lone male suspect armed with a handgun. The witness reported he heard a commotion at the back door of the business and when he opened that door to investigate, a male suspect wearing a mask armed with a handgun forced his way into the building and demanded money. During the robbery, the suspect allegedly fired one shot but did not strike the employee. After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect fled the scene of the crime on foot. There were no customers in the store at the time of the robbery and the employee was not injured.

Detectives are working to obtain video surveillance footage from the business in an effort to help identify the criminal responsible for this robbery. They are also in the process of conducting in-depth interviews to garner a more specific description of the suspect. Anyone who has any information regarding this robbery is urged to call Shreveport Police robbery detectives at 318-673-6955 or Crime Stoppers at 318-673-7373.
