Shreveport brothers arrested following argument over drugs

Two brothers are in custody this evening after an early morning dispute over drugs led to shots fired in the 6200 block of Southcrest Drive in West Shreveport. .

The incident occurred on Thursday at around 10:00 a.m. after officers received a report of several shots being fired. When police arrived, they learned that 19-year old Miquon Rachal, of Shreveport,  had been in an argument with an unnamed woman. During the argument, Rachal picked up a rifle and began firing shots in the front yard of the residence. Moments later, 22-year old Dustin Rachal, of Shreveport, arrived and an argument began between the two over drugs that were kept at the residence.

The argument between the two brothers led to more shots being fired by Miquon Rachal. Officers were able to take both men into custody as well as retrieving the gun used in the incident, along with a small quantity of marijuana and Xanax pills.

There were no reported injuries.

Miquon Rachal was charged with one count of possession of marijuana and one count of possession of a controlled dangerous substance with a firearm. Dustin Rachal was charged with possession of schedule IV with intent to distribute and possession of a controlled dangerous substance with a firearm. Both men were booked into the Shreveport City Jail.
