Shreveport police have released the following statement on Friday's Capital One Bank robbery:
Police detectives are looking for a man who robbed a Shreveport bank this afternoon.
At approximately 2:55 p.m. this afternoon, Shreveport Police patrol officers were dispatched out to the Capitol One Bank in the 5800 block of Mansfield Road relative to a reported robbery. Upon arrival, officers learned that a male suspect dressed as a woman entered the bank and gave a note to one of the tellers demanding money. The suspect was given an undisclosed amount of money and subsequently fled the scene on foot. No one was injured during this robbery.
Police investigators are now asking for your help in identifying and apprehending this bank bandit. He is described as a stocky build black male about five feet 8- 10 inches tall weighing about 250 pounds who was last seen wearing a plaid matching outfit.

A Shreveport police spokesman says a man dressed as a woman robbed the Capital One Bank in Shreveport on Mansfield Road.
Witnesses tell police around 3 p.m. a man showed a note demanding money, then ran from the bank headed west toward Mansfield Road with an undisclosed amount of cash. He did not show a weapon during the robbery.
He is described as a black male dressed as a woman wearing shorts.
No injuries have been reported.
Police officials say they were surprised to see a bank robber dressed as woman and not wearing a mask.
A Capital One Bank was robbed around 3:30 Friday on the 5800 block of Mansfield Road near Hollywood Avenue in Shreveport.
Police are currently on the scene investigating.
