Police detectives are investigating two unrelated overnight shootings that left 2 people suffering from non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.

At around 8:03 p.m. on Tuesday, Shreveport officers were called to a home in the 4000 block of Miles Street to a shooting. Upon arrival, they found 42-year old James Price III suffering from a single gunshot wound his right leg.

Price told authorities he had been hanging out and drinking with some men he did not know when he heard several shots and realized he had been hit by a bullet, but did not see the shooter. He was taken to a local hospital.

About 30 minutes later, officers responded to another shooting at an apartment home in the 2900 block of Peach Street. When police arrived, they found 28-year old Charles Jackson with a gunshot wound his right elbow.

Jackson reported that several men loitering near the apartment complex began fighting when at least one of the people pulled a handgun and began firing shots, hitting him in the arm. Jackson was taken to a local hospital.

Investigators working to determine the shooter in both cases.
