Shreveport authorities arrest over 100 during weekend parade
Shreveport Police report 122 arrests made during the Krewe of Centaur Parade.
Based on reports from the three Shreveport Police Command Posts, there were 122 people arrested at the parade last Saturday. The arrests were mostly all misdemeanors and ran the gamut from underage possession of alcohol to urinating in public to disturbing the peace by fighting. A Shreveport City Ordinance prohibiting the purchase, consumption and public possession of alcoholic beverages by persons between 17 years of age and 21 years of age made up the bulk of the arrests with 65 people being charged for that offense. Three arrests were made for driving while intoxicated, four for urinating in public, one for obscenity, two for battery of an officer, three for interfering with an officer, one for public intoxication, two for contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and one for domestic battery. Seven people were charged with resisting arrest, five with disturbing the peace, and one with flight from an officer.
