A salesperson for a local monument company was arrested by the Caddo Sheriff's Office for stealing nearly $15,000 in payments, said Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator.

Kristina Morgan, 33, of Stonewall, is accused of pocketing money she received from customers between July and October 2010. During that time, Morgan turned in 16 contracts showing customers purchased monuments on a payment plan. However, copies of the contacts given to the customers showed the balances paid in full. The theft was discovered when the company owner tried to collect payment from several customers.

Morgan was arrested following an investigation by Caddo Sheriff's Detective Yomeka Evans of the Caddo-Shreveport Financial Crimes Task Force. Morgan was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center for felony theft.
