Regional Airport holds mock airline collision drill

Local first-responders participated in a mock aircraft collision on the run way of Shreveport Regional Airport with 500 members of Shreveport-Bossiers’ public safety authorities with volunteers acting a role players this morning on the runway of the airport.

The scenario of a landing commuter jet striking a cargo carrier jet and killing dozens of passengers was the script emergency personnel followed during the morning long drill.

Shreveport fire police personnel joined by Caddo and Bossier sheriffs and Louisiana State police as well as Barksdale Air Force Base service members aided the wounded recovered the dead put out the simulated fires during the exercise that take place every 3-year.
