BOSSIER CITY- A boat cruise on the Red River turned deadly for a young couple Tuesday morning.
At around 7:30 this morning a woman clinging to the boat after it hit a jetty, crawled up the embankment on the Bossier side along Arthur Ray Teague Park and stopped a passer-by for help, saying her boat had overturned and her fiancée was missing.
According to Bossier City Police spokesperson Mark Natale, the couple set the boat in the Red River last night, however he could not say if the accident happened Monday night or Tuesday morning.
Fire personnel from Bossier City and boats from Bossier Sheriff, Caddo Sheriffs and Louisiana Fish and Wild Life searched the river for sometime until the man's body was found south of the Jimmy Davis Bridge. The woman was taken to a local hospital.
The identity of the couple has not been released.
