Raph Rhymes named SEC Player of the Year

BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — LSU outfielder Raph Rhymes was selected 2012 SEC Baseball Player of the Year, the league announced Tuesday. Rhymes leads the nation in hitting with a .459 batting average. The Tigers ace pitcher Kevin Gausman was named to the first team SEC along with Rhymes. Several other Tigers also received honors Tuesday; Aaron Nola (All Freshman Team), Ryan Eades (All Defensive Team), Mason Katz (All SEC Second Team).
