FOX 33 is getting more information about the possibility of a fourth riverboat casino coming to Bossier City.
The chairman of the Louisiana Gaming Control Board, Dane Morgan, told us a potential buyer has expressed interest in purchasing an existing license. That means an existing casino in the state would have to close down for a new one to open in Bossier City.
The gaming control board would have the final seal of approval for that license to be purchased.
"If a potential buyer negotiates with a current licensee and they work out the terms of that purchase, then they would file a joint petition with the board," Morgan explained. The board would then transmit that petition to the Louisiana State Police who would conduct a suitability investigation.
Local officials say the casino would be built along the river just north of the Louisiana Boardwalk.
The chairman expects something to be released publicly from the potential buyer by next week.
